Who We Are

ShadowFront Intelligence is a Washington-licensed private investigation agency serving attorneys, businesses, and individuals.

We provide professional investigative services built around careful fact-finding, thorough documentation, discretion, and objective reporting. From surveillance and witness interviews to background investigations, records research, digital evidence, and field investigations, our role is to uncover and document the information our clients need to make informed decisions and move their cases forward.

Founded by two prior-service U.S. Army veterans, ShadowFront Intelligence brings together backgrounds in criminal justice, psychology, cybersecurity, business, education, and investigative fieldwork. That range of experience shapes the way we approach each case: methodically, professionally, and with attention to both the details and the larger picture.

Our job is not to reach a predetermined conclusion. It is to follow the facts, document what we find, and provide our clients with clear, objective information they can rely on.

For Attorneys and Law Firms

For Attorneys and Law Firms

An Extension of Your Case Team

We work with attorneys to identify investigative needs, gather relevant information, and document our findings clearly and objectively. Our role is to provide reliable investigative support that helps you evaluate the facts and prepare your case.

Evidence, Interviews, and Documentation

From witness interviews and statements to records research, scene documentation, photographs, and other investigative evidence, we focus on preserving the details that matter. Findings are organized and documented clearly so you can readily evaluate and incorporate them into your case.

Case Preparation and Testimony

Our involvement doesn't have to end when the investigation is complete. When needed, we can assist with case review, evidence organization, exhibit preparation, and attorney consultation, and provide deposition or courtroom testimony regarding our investigative work.

Investigations

We Follow the Facts and Document What We Find.

Every investigation begins with a question. We approach each one with the same commitment to objectivity, thorough documentation, discretion, and clear reporting.

Surveillance & Documentation

We conduct mobile and stationary surveillance to objectively observe and document relevant activity. When appropriate, findings are supported by time-stamped notes, photographs, video, and detailed written reports.

Careful documentation is central to our approach. We maintain a clear record of what was observed, when it occurred, and the evidence collected so our clients have an accurate account of the investigation.

Undercover Investigations

When appropriate to the case, pretext or undercover methods may be used to gather information that may not be obtainable through conventional investigative methods. These assignments are carefully planned around the circumstances, objectives, and legal and ethical boundaries of the investigation.

Our purpose is to gather objective information—not to confirm a predetermined conclusion. We document what the investigation reveals, even when the facts differ from what was originally expected.

Financial & Insurance Fraud

We assist attorneys, businesses, insurers, and other clients with investigations involving questionable claims, suspected fraud, financial discrepancies, and conflicting information. Our role is to verify available information, identify inconsistencies, and objectively document what the evidence supports.

Background Investigations

We conduct background investigations to help clients verify identities, histories, associations, and other relevant information based on the needs of the case. Research may include public records, court records, criminal-history information when appropriate and lawfully available, and other verified sources.

Findings are organized into a clear report that distinguishes documented information from information that could not be independently verified.

Domestic & Infidelity Investigations

Domestic and infidelity matters can be highly personal. We approach them as investigative questions—objectively, discreetly, and without judgment. Our role is to establish and document the relevant facts, so you have reliable information on which to make your own decisions.

These matters are handled with professionalism, discretion, and respect for client privacy.

Civil, Criminal & Workplace Investigations

We provide investigative support in civil, criminal, and workplace matters based on the specific needs of each case. Services may include fact development, interviews, records research, surveillance, evidence review, scene documentation, and other investigative work appropriate to the assignment.

Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity

Digital Evidence. Carefully Collected, Examined, and Documented.

Digital evidence can play a critical role in an investigation. We assist with the identification, collection, preservation, examination, and documentation of electronic evidence from authorized devices and digital sources, using methods appropriate to the circumstances of the case.

Our digital investigative capabilities complement our traditional investigative services and may provide additional information in matters involving fraud, workplace investigations, civil litigation, domestic cases, and other investigations involving electronic evidence. Digital services are conducted by personnel holding CSIS and CIOS certifications.

Cybersecurity Consultation

We help businesses identify potential security risks, review existing practices, and better understand areas of vulnerability. When a suspected security incident occurs, our services can also assist in documenting and evaluating available information to help determine what occurred and what may have been affected.

Court and Field Services

Practical Support. Professional Documentation.

Process Serving

We provide professional service of legal documents throughout Benton and Franklin counties, with clear communication and documentation of successful service or unsuccessful attempts. Rush, same-day, and service outside the local area may be available depending on the circumstances of the assignment.

Skip Tracing

We locate witnesses, parties to be served, debtors, heirs, and other individuals using investigative databases, public records, and other lawful research methods. Findings are evaluated and documented to provide clients with the most reliable location information available.

Witness Interviews & Statement Collection

We conduct professional witness interviews and obtain recorded or written statements based on the needs of the case. Interviews are approached objectively and documented clearly to preserve relevant details and provide an accurate record of the information obtained.

Scene Photography & Documentation

We provide detailed photographic and written documentation of scenes, property, conditions, and other relevant evidence. Services may include photographs, measurements, and comprehensive scene documentation to create a clear record of conditions observed at the time of the assignment.

Court Filing and Bench Copies

We provide court filing and document delivery services, including delivery of bench copies and other case materials. Standard and rush service may be available depending on court requirements, location, and deadline.

Standby Observation & Documentation

For custody exchanges, property transfers, and other potentially contentious interactions, we can attend as an independent observer and document relevant events, including arrivals, departures, timing, interactions, and other observable activity.

Our role is to observe and document—not to mediate, enforce agreements or court orders, or intervene in disputes. When appropriate, the assignment is documented through written notes, photographs, video, or a formal investigative report.

Records & Document Retrieval

We locate and retrieve public records, court records, and other available documents relevant to an investigation or legal matter. Retrieved materials are organized and provided clearly so clients can efficiently review and incorporate them into their case or investigation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions People Ask Before They Call an Investigator.

Washington private investigators have a professional duty to protect confidential information obtained during an investigation. State law identifies the disclosure of confidential investigative information as unprofessional conduct for a licensed private investigator. However, confidentiality is not the same as attorney-client privilege, and information may be subject to lawful disclosure or legal process in some circumstances. If privilege is important to your matter, discuss your specific situation with your attorney.”

Evidence gathered by a private investigator may be used in legal proceedings when it is lawfully obtained and meets applicable evidentiary requirements. We focus on careful documentation, preservation of original media, detailed reporting, and maintaining a clear record of how evidence was obtained and handled. Admissibility is determined by the applicable rules of evidence and the court, not by the investigator.

Yes. We provide investigative and litigation support for attorneys and law firms, including surveillance, witness interviews and statements, skip-tracing, background and records research, scene documentation, digital evidence, process service, and other investigative services based on the needs of the case. We work to provide attorneys with clear, objective findings and organized documentation that can be readily evaluated and incorporated into their case preparation.

Yes. Washington requires private investigators and private investigation agencies to be properly licensed under Chapter 18.165 RCW. A private investigator must carry their license while performing investigative duties and present it upon request. ShadowFront Intelligence is a Washington-licensed private investigation agency, and our agency license number is displayed on our website and business materials.

Cost depends on the type of service, complexity of the case, time required, travel, urgency, and other case-specific needs. Some services are offered at a flat or starting rate, while investigative work is generally billed hourly. Our initial consultation is available at
no charge for up to 30 minutes. Before work begins, we discuss the anticipated scope, applicable rates, and any retainer or additional expenses that may apply. A full fee schedule is available upon request.

The timeline depends on the type of investigation, objectives, availability of information, subject activity, and other circumstances outside the investigator’s control. Some assignments can be completed quickly, while others may require multiple days or weeks. We discuss anticipated timelines at the beginning of the assignment and communicate with clients as the investigation progresses.

Discretion is an important part of investigative work, and we take reasonable measures to protect client confidentiality and avoid unnecessary disclosure of an investigation. However, no investigator can guarantee that a person will never become aware of an investigation. The level of discretion possible depends on the type of assignment, investigative methods used, and circumstances of the case.

If there is an immediate threat to someone’s safety, a crime is in progress, or emergency assistance is needed, call 911. Suspected criminal activity may also need to be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Private investigators serve a different role. We assist attorneys, businesses, and individuals with matters such as civil and criminal case support, surveillance, witness interviews, background and records research, fraud and workplace investigations, domestic matters, and other fact-finding needs. When you’re unsure which resource is appropriate, we can discuss whether your matter falls within the services we provide.

You do not need to have everything figured out before contacting us. Bring whatever information you already have, such as names, dates, locations, photographs, documents, case numbers, known vehicles, or a description of what you are trying to establish. During the consultation, we can help identify what information is relevant and discuss investigative options based on your objectives.

Our primary service area includes Benton, Franklin, and Walla Walla counties and the greater Tri-Cities region. We also accept assignments throughout Eastern Washington and, depending on the needs of the case, elsewhere in Washington State. Contact us to discuss availability for your location.

No ethical investigator can guarantee what an investigation will uncover. Our responsibility is to conduct the agreed investigative work thoroughly and objectively, document what we find, and report the facts accurately—even when the findings differ from what a client expected.

We begin with an initial consultation to understand your objectives and determine whether the matter is appropriate for our services. Before accepting an assignment, we review the scope, potential conflicts or concerns, anticipated costs, and investigative approach. If we accept the case, the terms of the assignment are documented before investigative work begins.

Why You Won't See Investigator Photos Here.

We intentionally limit public-facing photographs and personal information about our investigators. Discretion and a low public profile can be important in surveillance, pretext, and other field assignments where recognition could compromise the work. Our credentials are not anonymous.
